Use the product name and the period
When comparing experiences with software, identify which product and configuration were used. A statement about a company's early system may not describe a later drawing-and-quoting product. Clear names and dates make historical discussions easier to interpret.
For a present-day demonstration, prepare an example quote with explicit assumptions. Include a customer change and compare how the revised scope is communicated. The important result is that another employee can identify the approved proposal without reconstructing a private conversation.
Separate a feature from a shop rule
Ask who can approve changes, discounts, or exclusions in your process. Software configuration may help enforce those decisions, but the business first needs to define them. Record which behavior was demonstrated and which remains a request for follow-up.
